When does this happen?
This article applies if:
You send an SMS from your TalentLynk number using the TalentLynk desktop or mobile app.
The recipient receives your SMS normally.
When they reply, their reply appears on your physical iPhone or another Apple device instead of inside TalentLynk.
This usually happens when your ported TalentLynk number is still registered with iMessage.
When an iPhone user replies, their phone may recognise your number as iMessage-enabled and send the reply as an iMessage instead of an SMS. Because iMessage is handled by Apple rather than the mobile network, the message can be delivered to your Apple device over Wi-Fi or mobile data and will not appear in TalentLynk.
How to fix it
You need to deregister your TalentLynk number from iMessage.
If you still have the iPhone that previously used the number:
Open Settings â Apps â Messages
Turn iMessage off
Go to Settings â Apps â FaceTime
Turn FaceTime off
If you no longer have access to that iPhone, you can deregister the number using Apple's online Deregister iMessage tool.
The important part is that the number you ported into TalentLynk is no longer registered with iMessage.
After deregistering, it can take a few hours for some Apple devices to recognise the change. Future replies to SMS messages sent from your TalentLynk number should then be sent as normal SMS messages and appear inside TalentLynk.
Note: If replies are not appearing in either TalentLynk or on an Apple device, this is likely a different SMS delivery issue. Ask to speak to a support person.
