If you received an email saying your email account was disconnected, don't worry - nothing is wrong with your account and no emails have been lost. Here's what happened and how to fix it in about a minute.
Why did this happen?
Your email provider (Microsoft or Google) controls the connection between your mailbox and TalentLynk, and from time to time they expire it. This is normal and can happen for a few reasons:
You (or your IT team) changed a password, MFA, or another security setting
Your company's security policies require signing in again periodically
The provider expired it simply as a routine precaution
TalentLynk never disconnects your email — the expiry always comes from your provider's side, and there's no way to prevent it. All you need to do is reconnect.
How to reconnect
Go to the Settings page (⚙️ icon at the bottom left) or visit app.talentlynk.ai/settings.
Find the tile with Outlook or Gmail, depending on your account.
Sign in with your Outlook or Gmail account when prompted.
That's it — the status will show Connected and your Smart Inbox will start syncing again.
What about emails from while I was disconnected?
They're safe in your Outlook or Gmail inbox - nothing is deleted. Once you reconnect, TalentLynk automatically catches up on emails from the past few days. If you stay disconnected for longer, older emails may not appear in the Smart Inbox - so it's best to reconnect as soon as you get the warning.
If reconnecting doesn't work
The disconnection email includes a small "technical detail" line at the bottom. If it mentions an error code (for example AADSTS700003 or MailboxNotEnabledForRESTAPI), share it with your IT administrator — these usually need a change in your company's Microsoft settings.
