In the TalentLynk app

  • Open the Dialpad in TalentLynk and click on Settings

  • Select the input and output options that have the same name as your connected headset.

Note: most times it’s ok to use the “Default” device if the headset is used as a default in your Windows settings.

  • To ensure you’ve selected the right device, press “Record” and start talking to see if the microphone works correctly. When you’re finished click “Play Recording” to listen to your recording and ensure that the output also works correctly.

  • If you see a message saying the microphone doesn’t have permissions, please check this video to reset and re-enable them.

  • If you cannot hear your recording clearly or at all, choose a different device from above and try the test again. Also make sure your volume is not set to 0 or mute on your PC.

In the mobile app

📲 Sounds in the TalentLynk mobile app works exactly the same as with any other normal phone call.

Background noise cancellation

🎧 We do not advise using AirPods or headphones of any kind as they do not have noise cancelling capabilities, which causes background noise. Please invest in a dedicated headset with noise cancellation capabilities (e.g. Jabra, Logitech etc) if possible.

Other tips

  • Check the sound settings on your laptop settings to ensure the input and output are coming through the headset. Often you will have to go to ‘Volume Mixer’ to adjust audio for Chrome or Edge specifically.

  • See this video for adjusting Sound Settings in Microsoft Windows:

  • Sometimes if the receiver has low or no signal, this can lead to a call being poor - try a test call with another contact to see if it’s just for one specific issue or for everyone.

  • If you have a bluetooth headset, make sure you are only connected to the laptop and not any other device (e.g. mobile phones)
